GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. GriefShare is a faith-based program to provide education, support, and hope after the loss of a spouse, family member or friend. No cost, no commitment; just come and see! We do gratefully accept free-will donations to offset the cost of materials, which includes the $20 workbook.
Do you have a friend or family member whom you believe would benefit from GriefShare? Please invite them to come - and come with them, at least for the first time!
Where we meet:
In the Trinity Room at St. Matthew Catholic Church. We're in one of the meeting rooms behind the social hall.
Is it too late to start?
GriefShare is a 13-Session program but you can join anytime! Even if you have to miss a few meetings, you can still join us and benefit from the program when you're available.
What happens at a meeting?
We gather and members will share a bit about their week - a little catching up between friends new and old. Then we watch a video and often use the workbook to follow along and make notes. Then we discuss the topic of the video. No one has to speak, and everyone has a chance to share if and when they are ready. We have lots of tissues available! Between meetings, the workbook provides a way to do daily activities and readings to help healing.
When is the best time to come to GriefShare?
Although GriefShare can be helpful throughout the grief process, most people find it helpful to wait at least 3 months before attending a grief support group. Prior to that, spiritual and companionate supports are more useful.
Do you want to come to GriefShare, but can't come during the day?
GriefShare is offered by many other churches in the area, and no matter which Christian denomination the church sponsoring the program may be, we all use the same materials. If our GriefShare isn't convenient for you, you can search for other sessions at GriefShare.org
